Mike Russell – Professional Biography
Mr. Russell has spent over 28 years in the medical device industry developing and managing initiatives for Fortune 100/500, early stage and start-up companies. He served in areas of increasing responsibility for Pfizer, Bard, Stryker, Medtronic, and Maquet, achieving top performance awards for each of the companies he was with.
He then joined a start-up device company serving as VP for Inceptio Medical Technologies. At this company, he helped raise capital and developed and launched multiple product lines while defining and managing global business growth. Furthermore, he was instrumental in preparing the company for acquisition in less than 2 years.
Subsequently, Mr. Russell served as founder and CEO for a medical device distributor servicing the US market in areas of surgery, vascular access, medical diagnostics, and other areas of the hospital and acute care settings before becoming an industry strategy consultant. Since then, he has been successful in serving in various executive management roles including, CEO, President, VP, Director and Board of Directors working with multiple early stage and start-up medical device, product and service companies.
His experience and expertise in defining strategy prior to launching and managing new technologies to market for new device companies -coupled with his executive leadership capabilities has enabled him to be instrumental in helping multiple companies achieve profitability for the first time. He has extensive industry experience and a strong relationship base with the most prominent hospital network organizations and teaching institutions throughout the world, as well as with national Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO’s), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN’s), and managed care and governmental organizations.
Mr. Russell received an MBA from Westminster College with certificates in Marketing and International Administration, and a BS in Economics from the University of Utah. He resides in Utah with his family where he enjoys staying active in the great outdoors when time permits.
